Zillow and Trulia are Bullshit Home Searches

This is a big myth that I’m going to bust right now. Searching for homes on Zillow and Trulia aren’t actually home searches, they are bullshit searches.

If you enjoy perusing misinformation and digesting inaccuracy, by all means feast on the feed that Zillow, Trulia and realtor.com provide. None of them are accurate or actual home searches.

In years past our local MLS did indeed provide feeds of our available homes for sale to sites such as these. Not anymore. So not only is the information provided on sites such as Zillow and trulia NOT the most current and up to date real estate market information, in many cases it’s just downright wrong, outdated, and a microcosm of superficiality.

If you love the superficial, by all means dive in. And don’t bother calling me because we’re not a match 😉

The reality is that sites such as Zillow and trulia are a business. Their business is mining consumer information (that’s you) and selling it to the highest bidder (they target real estate agents like we’re sugar fiends that haven’t eaten a candy bar in months). They. Are. A. Business. They’re not looking out for the consumer and never will, they exist to make a profit and do it by selling the data they gather from oh so eager consumers.

If you’re remotely interested in finding actually relevant real estate market information and available Charlotte area homes for sale, the best starting point is our public consumer MLS website at CarolinaHome.Com

If you’re just curious or considering buying a home in the area, please check out that website. NOTE: If you are not represented by a buyers agent, contacting a listing agent means everything you share will be used against you.

A buyers agent can of course set up a customized search and advocate on your behalf when you’re ready which will update you directly.

Looking to go beyond the bullshit and gain some accurate information on homes available in the Charlotte area? Let’s chat. We are experiencing a strong seller favored market in many locations and price points but there are still opportunities for those interested in buying a home.
