You use them everyday but probably take them for granted and they’re often overlooked when it comes to freshening up or updating spaces in your home but when it comes time to sell they’re a hot spot and high on buyer’s interest.
Closets are storage spaces and while they’re not the most glamorous spot in a home (no shiny granite or fancy new fixtures) they’re pretty important when it comes to selling a home in Charlotte.
I see a LOT of homes and one of the most commonly overlooked and neglected spaces are the closets. Everything from original shag carpet (in some interesting colors) to beaten up paint, worn out or broken shelving – no matter how beautiful the rest of a house is, the closets are often in a really sorry state.
And don’t get me started on sellers who think closets=the place we’re going to cram all the crap from the rest of the house!
Now this is a house that was built in the 70s and I’d be willing to bet that the closets hadn’t been painted or refreshed, well, ever. Till now and they look great.
Fresh, clean, paint and new shelves. Perfect! Show-ready closets may not be as much fun as granite or new fixtures but they make a HUGE difference…..especially when it comes to selling and presenting a home on the market in Charlotte.
No, they’re not the most glamorous part of a home but as far as function and storage go – they’re one of the most important. So don’t neglect your closets.
Go through and get rid of stuff you don’t need/love/use (regularly), give the closet a fresh coat of paint and fix/replace any broken shelving.
