William R Davie Park in South Charlotte NC

The William R Davie Park is part of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Park and Recreation system and in addition to recreation areas for residents, includes the Davie Dog Park – a 5 acre off leash dog park.

Located along Pineville Matthews Rd (between the Arboretum and Rea Rd) in south Charlotte, Davie Park is over 100 acres and offers recreation amenities including softball and soccer fields, tennis and volleyball courts, playground equipment and walking trails.

The Davie Dog Park is one of 6 off-leash dog park areas in Mecklenburg county, current vaccinations are required but the dog parks are FREE for residents and their dogs to enjoy.

Davie Park is also a pretty good spot to park and go for a run either down Pineville Matthews Rd or through some of the neighborhoods located nearby.  The Windswept neighborhood is directly across the street, the Carrington neighborhood is just a bit down the road and the Rosecliff neighborhood is also not far from the park.
