Too Focused On Getting A Great “Deal”? You Might Just End Up With A Worthless Block of Wood

 

When buying anything, yes even a home in Charlotte NC, focusing on a great “deal” might just get you less than you bargained for.

 

There’s a story online in the local paper about a woman who thought she was buying an ipad and ended up with a painted block of wood.

 

Now, I don’t know about you but I don’t typically shop for electronics in a McDonald’s parking lot and would probably want to see this supposed product before I paid for it but there’s still a message in this story.

 

Hyper-focusing on a “deal” or “amount reduced” or “sale” is dangerous and you just may end up with something that you wouldn’t have bought otherwise and worst case, may be worth far less than you paid (last I checked, blocks of wood aren’t compatible with ANY operating system!)

 

How does any of this relate to anyone considering buying a home in Charlotte NC?

 

Getting a “deal” is NOT and should never be a primary reason for buying a home.

 

Consider what you can comfortably afford, whether the responsibility of homeownership is something you’re ready for, what aspects and features of a home are important to you……give careful consideration to any home you’re considering buying.

 

Get it inspected!!!! Consider whether it will meet your needs not just today but (at least) for the next 5 years or longer.

 

Don’t get all excited and blinded by a “deal”.  Buying a home is a big step whether it’s your first or 15th house.  Give it the respect and consideration the home buying process deserves.

 

Buying a home isn’t an impulse purchase, or at least it shouldn’t be!  There’s much more to the story than a “deal” and much more to consider than price alone.
