Simple Fix for a Slow Draining Sink

If your kitchen or bathroom sinks ever drain slowly, try this quick and simple fix using items you probably already have around the house – white vinegar and baking soda!

Take baking soda and dump it into the drain, there’s not really a precise measurement but be liberal with it!

Pour at least 1/2 or 1 cup of vinegar into the drain.

Let it sit (it’ll foam and start to bubble as soon as you add the vinegar).  I’ve heard some people recommend covering it with a cloth while it sits but I’ve done this successfully without that.

After 15 to 30 minutes pour HOT water into the drain to flush it out.

I’ve used this after trying store bought drain cleaners and it did actually work…and was more cost effective!

Selling your home in Charlotte NC?  Try this on any sinks that drain slowly, home inspectors will make note of sinks that don’t drain properly.
