Leaving to go out and preview some homes yesterday I walked out the door, dropped my bag on the back of my car and went to lock the deadbolt when the dryer vent caught my attention……and I’ll admit I’m ashamed!!!
So I had to take a picture and planned on sharing the photo with a reminder to check your dryer vents and clean them out – don’t let them get to this point!!!! And really, I KNOW better and have no excuse for how it got that bad. Lint and fuzz does build up over time, and not just in the built-in lint trap.
Then this morning I saw a post by Jackie Connelly-Fornuff, a Long Island Real Estate Broker where she shared some great tips on the importance of keeping your dryer vent clean and emptying out the lint that builds up (not just in the lint trap!!!), at the back of the dryer, and the hose as well as where it vents outside.
Her post is definitely worth the read – Dryer Vent Safety by Jackie Connelly-Fornuff, Long Island Real Estate News
Have you checked your dryer vent or pulled it out to clean the back of it lately? I know mine’s due for a good cleaning this weekend!
