New listing activity in south Charlotte NC (mls area 5) was down just slightly for June of 2010 and very close to June of last year’s activity level.
After declining in May 2010 (post-tax credit deadline) under contract activity actually rose slightly in June 2010 for single family homes in the south Charlotte NC region and was also 8% higher than June of last year.
Not surprisingly, SOLD single family real estate activity reached its highest level in more than a year in June 2010 as the (initial) deadline for closing tax credit eligible sales approached.
Average monthly real estate sales prices for south Charlotte NC have mainly been in the low to mid $400,000 ranges and June 2010 was no exception with an average sales price of $438,677 and that was just slightly higher than the same month a year earlier.
Even though June 2010’s monthly real estate sales activity in mls area 5 saw an increase in the amount of Sold real estate listings compared to recent months….in most price points there’s still a high level of real estate inventory for home buyers to choose from. Increased real estate closings compared to a year ago hasn’t erased the supply of homes for sale in south Charlotte NC!
