It’s easy to focus on (and blog) about mistakes home sellers make, all of the AWFUL things we see, hear and smell when showing homes to our buyer clients. There’s nothing wrong with pointing out “what not to do when selling your Charlotte NC home” and let’s face it missteps can make for some entertaining reading.
But I’d like to take a minute to recognize and extend a Thank You to the home sellers that get it right. The ones whose homes are a pleasure to show regardless of whether their home ends up as one my buyers consider purchasing.
I’ve been a seller myself and I KNOW it’s a pain in the @!# to keep a house you’re living in “show ready”. It’s not the normal way you live in your house and it’s definitely extra work on top of everything else you have going on in your daily life.
So, to the local Charlotte NC area home sellers who have so clearly taken the time, energy and made the commitment to have their home ready to welcome in buyers….Thank You!!!!! It doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s not just me. My buyers frequently will comment when it’s clear the homeowners have gone the extra mile and made sure the house is accessible, clean, inviting and welcoming.
Sure I’m working as a buyers agent when showing homes and I’m working on the buyer’s team but I don’t think that’s any reason to not acknowledge the home sellers who do a fantastic job of keeping their home in “show ready” condition, ready for home buyers to tour and see if they can envision themselves living there.
Thanks to all of the home sellers in Charlotte NC who take the task of having their home ready for buyers so seriously! And thanks to their listing agents who’ve helped them prepare their home for Charlotte NC’s real estate market where these days home buyers have a lot of options to consider.
A well presented home isn’t going to determine whether a given house works for a buyers needs but it does make it a LOT more pleasant for the home buyers to evaluate and focus on the house instead of distractions!
