Atherton Mill Farmers Market in Charlotte NC

Over the weekend I stopped into the Atherton Mill Farmers Market in Charlotte NC’s South End.  Didn’t really know what to expect but it was actually a really interesting mix of local vendors in a space that isn’t overwhelming.

It wasn’t just local farmers offering produce (though there were a number of local farmers with a variety of choices from fruits and veggies to meats and cheeses).

The Atherton Mill Farmers Market also includes local retailers with art, jewelry, chocolates, prepared foods and baked goods.  There was also a local honey company (Charlotte Local Honey from Myers Park, who’d have thought?) and live music just outside the market itself.

Overall it was an interesting mix of products, most definitely NOT one-dimensional.   The Atherton Mill farmers market is open Tuesdays and Saturdays.  If you’re near the South End area of Charlotte, check them out! Located on South Blvd, it’s an easy walk from the Lynx Light Rail Station at East Blvd.

Visit the Facebook page for Atherton Mill Market for updates on what’s happening at the farmers market and the Atherton Mill in South End Charlotte NC.   Atherton Mill is home to restaurant/dining options, a furniture store as well as a fitness/health club in addition to the Atherton Market.

If South End Charlotte isn’t convenient for you, check out other local Charlotte NC Area Farmers Markets – there’s lots of options to explore.
