No, I’m not implying you shouldn’t consider or actually use a portable storage container company (of which there are many) for your move to or from a home in Charlotte NC, but BEFORE you actually hire one, please stop and ask them about ANY conditions that would prevent them from delivering that container to your next residence.
One of the impediments I’ve recently learned about that can delay or even prevent delivery of that storage container is the slope of the driveway. Yep, if the driveway’s “too steep” that container with your possessions may get delivered…right back to the company’s storage facility instead of to your house.
Even if you don’t think the driveway’s steep, it’s worth it to ask the question before you hire a company what THEIR standards are. The reality is they may or may not mention to you that the the driveway (or area you plan on having the container delivered to) needs to be less than a certain slope.
Forewarned is forearmed, and this isn’t just for home buyers and sellers in Charlotte NC but for anyone planning a move and considering using a portable storage container to get their belongings from one residence to the next.
So before you hire a container moving company, ASK them about how level the delivery surface needs to be as well as any other conditions that would pose a problem for delivery. Moving is stressful and chaotic enough without your belongings ending up in limbo at a storage facility.
