First Time Buyer And Repeat Home Buyer Tax Credit

In the latest incarnation of “home buyer tax credit”, repeat home buyers are included as a potentially eligible home buyer.  Of course there’s still other conditions that must be met, not the least of which is having owned and lived in the home you sell for 5 years.

For some frequently asked questions and answers plus an overview of some key points, check out Home Buyer Federal Housing Tax Credit  which has updated information on the extended/revised home buyer tax credit.

The new deadline involves having a binding sales purchase contract by April 30, 2010 and closing by June 30, 2010.

For qualified home buyers this tax credit is still simply a one time, momentary benefit and it’s NOT a reason to buy a home.  For my thoughts on why any tax credit is not a valid reason to buy a home at all or to buy a home right now – I Won’t Be A Cheerleader For The Home Buyer Tax Credit

At the end of the day, any house you do decide to buy should be a place you’ll LOVE calling home and one that meets your needs.  Whether you buy a home during this tax credit window or not, there will be available Charlotte NC homes for sale to consider and evaluate.
