I Don’t Care How Many Bedrooms or Bathrooms You Want

Dear Buyer looking to buy a home in Charlotte NC,

I don’t care how many bedrooms or bathrooms are on your wish list (or your must have list for that matter).  Yes, yes, I know pretty much ALL the online home searching is about how many beds/baths/sq feet/fireplaces, and the list goes on and on with details related to the home search itself.

The thing is, when working with buyers (actually working with and for them as their buyers agent meaning my loyalty is ONLY to the buyer), the details of the home search are secondary.  Of course they have a place and they do matter but there’s more to the story when it comes to buying a home in Charlotte NC.

What I DO want to know and what I do care about when joining buyers on their journey to buying a home in Charlotte NC is where you’re coming from, where you’re trying to go and taking the time to learn about what matters to you in a home.  In other words the “why” behind your search for a home in Charlotte NC as well as the “why” behind what’s important to you in a home.

Do you entertain frequently and need a suitable layout?

Are out of town guests common and you need ample space for them?

Are you an outdoors person and a yard’s going to be super important?

Do you want a move-in ready house because you’ve been through renovations before and don’t want the hassle or is a project what you’re looking for?

There’s an endless array of highly personal needs and hopes for a home that go so far beyond beds/baths.  The details will fall into place, what I care about is learning your vision for a home, and more importantly the story behind that vision.

Buying a “first” home or a “next” home as a home buyer you’re going to have a vision for what will and won’t work for you in a house.  That’s what I care about, not how many beds, baths or yard space you want but WHY that’s important to you.

Buying a home is a journey and a process that can be one of life’s most stressful events, I get that, really I do.  At the end of the day (and the home buying process) the goal is for you to have a place that you really and truly LOVE to call home.  Anyone can pull up a house you could call “my 3 bed/2bath ranch on .3 acres”, I’d much rather help you navigate the road on your way to your “home”.  There IS a difference.
