Charlotte NC Buyers, What’s Your “House Style”?

Even if you don’t realize it, you probably have a “house style”. A certain layout, features or an architectural type of house that really appeals to you.

Charlotte NC buyers, your house style is an important factor because even if it’s on the subconscious level it will impact whether or not you can envision yourself in a home. Sure, number of bedrooms, baths, amount of space are important factors in a property search but style is sometimes overlooked (in my opinion).

Even if you’ve never owned a home, you still probably have some preferences whether they’re based on the house you grew up in or places you’ve lived since then.

If you have owned a home, you may have specific style features you want to find in your new place as well as some features you absolutely don’t want! Either way, past experiences will play a role in how you feel about a given home’s style and whether it’s a good fit for you.

Do you love or hate high ceilings? Do you want a kitchen open to the living area or prefer a more formal layout? Do you prefer a single level or multi-level home? You probably know the answers to these questions and these are things your agent will pick up on and hopefully discuss with you before viewing homes!

Style matters. It will make a difference as you’re evaluating and touring homes that you’re considering purchasing. Unfortunately there isn’t a quick and easy “form” way to capture someone’s house style. It takes more in depth conversation and really listening to a buyer’s needs, wants and desires as well as their experiences.

It’s about the layout, the functionality and the specific features of a house and how they relate to what style a buyer is seeking. For Charlotte NC buyers, make sure your agent understands your house style – it can make all the difference in focusing your search on the most appealing properties available!
